FAQ’s
-
The studio’s in Coburg North, just a little further north than Pentridge Shopping Centre. It’s tucked away in a quiet, leafy spot, easy to get to but away from the hustle and bustle.
-
I’ll send the studio address once your booking’s confirmed. Plenty of free all-day street parking nearby, or just a 10 min walk from Tram 19 and Merlynston station.
-
It’s a cosy studio designed for small crews, with a shooting space, storage, restroom, backyard, and wheelchair access. There’s a great surround sound system to set the vibe, plus plenty of cafés nearby for coffee and snacks.

Portrait Style Guide
Tips to help you look and feel your best for your portrait session
Clothing
Bring two outfits. This gives me variety - one a little more dressed up, one more relaxed.
Stick to timeless, solid colours. Avoid busy patterns, logos, or text.
Best colours in my studio: Autumn tones (rust, olive, muted teal, mustard, rosewood), soft whites, and dark greys.
Layers add interest. Jackets, cardigans, scarves, or even a favourite hat can bring personality.
Fit matters. Clothes should be comfortable but not overly baggy.
Accessories & Personal Items
Accessories: Keep minimal - simple jewellery, scarf, or watch.
Personal item. If there’s something tied to your story (book, instrument, tool, heirloom), bring it along.
Hats welcome. Felt, wool, or textured styles in earthy tones look great.
Small trinket. I like to also photograph hands. Bring something meaningful you can hold in your hand - a charm, keepsake, or small object that connects to you.
Grooming & Prep
Hair: Style it as you normally would. A quick tidy-up or fresh wash helps.
Makeup (optional): Go for natural, matte finishes.
Skin: Light moisturiser works - avoid shiny products.
Shaving/Beards: Tidy up the day of your shoot.
Before the Shoot
Rest well the night before.
Drink water, avoid excess alcohol.
Pack your outfits, trinket, and any personal items in advance so you’re not rushed.
Final Tip
Relax, lean into your style, and bring pieces that feel you. The best portraits happen when you’re comfortable and connected.
